Details

Since the acquisition of Canon-La-Gaffelière in 1971, the Von Neipperg family, of German origin, has become one of the pillars of the city, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Stephan Von Neipperg, after studying politics, began his agricultural career in Montpellier, graduated, and settled in Saint-Émilion on the family estate in 1983. The cultural and oenological developments continued until the conversion to organic farming in 2014. The quality of the plant and the massal selections of Cabernet Franc, from very old vines and planted on the warm, early-ripening soils at the foot of the slopes, refine the style of the wine, promoted to Premier Grand Cru Classé in 2012. Cabernet Franc is gaining ground in the blends of recent vintages and contributes to the freshness of these wines with their creamy, rounded, and consensual style. Ludovic, the son of Stephan von Neipperg, an agricultural engineer, now supports his father in the family adventure.
