Schloss Johannisberg is a 50-hectare monopole, a unique amphitheater encircling the castle and sloping down in terraces towards the Rhine. Natural drainage, optimal sunshine, and a mosaic of microclimates depending on the slopes and altitudes produce Rieslings that are both concentrated and ethereal, with a vibrant minerality. Planted with Riesling continuously since 1720, the estate embodies the purest expression of this grape variety in the Rheingau.

100% hand-harvested Riesling. A delicate maceration of approximately 24 hours precedes gentle pressing to encourage the expression of aromatic compounds without extracting bitterness. Fermentation takes place in traditional oak casks of approximately 1,200 liters, crafted from the estate's own oak. The wine is then aged for 24 months on its fine lees in the historic Bibliotheca Subterranea cellar, excavated 9 meters underground and naturally maintained at 10.5°C.
