Straw yellow in color. The nose is very expressive and intense, now displaying beautiful exotic, floral, and fruity aromas, giving a sense of lovely maturity in this vintage, almost reminiscent of a later-harvested style. The palate is surprisingly revealing, as it's impossible to imagine such dry and taut aromas in a wine style. The acidity is ripe, elegant, and mouthwatering. Very ample on the attack, the palate tightens into a dry and precise mineral finish, showcasing the complexity of this great vineyard. A very long finish; this wine will evolve slowly over time!

Details

A tireless ambassador for his wines and the region, Olivier Humbrecht, the first Frenchman to hold a Master of Wine degree, has long understood the importance of working in the vineyard. He converted the Zind-Humbrecht estate to biodynamics in 1999, and is one of its best ambassadors, also serving as president of the Biodyvin label. This type of cultivation has allowed him to overcome botrytis and reduce alcohol levels.

The wines have evolved over the years and now assert a resolutely dry style, with large barrels aging them several meters underground. Like all great Alsace wines, they reach their full potential after a few years or decades of aging. The Clos Windsbuhl is a must-try, and the Rangen de Thann stands out with age.
