In Aniane, the Grange des Pères estate was established in the late 1980s by Laurent Vaillé, who, after completing an apprenticeship with Eloi Durrbach in Trévallon, then with Gérard Chave and Jean-François Coche-Dury, took over the family estate, supplementing it with a few plots of garrigue in the Arboussas massif. After three years of clearing the land, the first vines were planted in 1988 and produced their first vintage in 1992. Success was immediate, and today the estate comprises 13 hectares of vineyards. The estate's renowned red wine is composed of Syrah and Mourvèdre (35-40%), Cabernet Sauvignon, Counoise, and, since 2006, Petit Verdot. The exceptional white wine (produced on 2 ha and at less than 5,000 bt/year) is composed of 80% Roussanne, 15% Marsanne and the rest Gros Manseng (Chardonnay has disappeared since 2008 and has been grafted with Roussanne).
