This Saint-Estèphe wine estate was acquired in the early 19th century by François-Armand Labory, a future wine broker, upon his marriage to Marie Sanny Gaston, the only daughter of the owners of the Cos Gaston vineyard. Renamed Château Cos Labory, the estate remained in Mr. Labory's hands until the 1840s, when a family dispute forced him to sell it. The buyer was none other than Louis-Gaspard d'Estournel, producer of the highly regarded Cos d'Estournel wine. In 1852, Louis-Gaspard d'Estournel sold Château Cos Laboury and other properties to the English banker Charles Cecil Martyns.

Château Cos Laboury, a Fifth Grand Cru Classé in 1855, subsequently had several owners until the 1930s, when Georges Weber took over. In 1959, Georges Weber's son-in-law, François Audoy, ​​took over. In 1971, the Audoy family acquired the neighboring Château Andron-Blanquet, expanding its range of wines in the Saint-Estèphe appellation.

In 2023, Cos Labory came under the control of its illustrious neighbor, Cos d'Estournel. Michel Reybier, the owner of both wines, did not plan to merge them, but to keep them alongside each other.
