Founded in the early 1950s, the Jamet estate was planted mainly with fruit trees, until the Côte-Rôtie began a revival at the start of the 1970s. The production was, initially, sold to the main merchants in the region, then Joseph Jamet bottled his first harvest in 1976.
The estate has since then been managed by his sons Jean-Paul and Jean-Luc, who raised him to his best level. In 2013, Jean-Luc, until then in charge of the vineyard, retired, and it is now Jean-Paul and his wife Corinne who ensure continuity. Loïc, their son, is also becoming more and more involved in the adventure, after having studied viticulture-oenology and traveling to South Africa.
The 17 hectare estate is located in 16 localities, including the famous Côte Brune. The harvest is carried out as late as possible to allow the fruit to reach optimal maturity. The wines are appreciated for their very graceful touch, their balance, and their ability to age. It is definitely an icon of the Rhône valley.
