The Robert Groffier Père et Fils estate extends its vineyards across Gevrey-Chambertin and Chambolle-Musigny in Burgundy, although the family itself resides in Morey-Saint-Denis. In Chambolle-Musigny, the Groffiers own most of the famous Premier Cru "Les Amoureuses." The estate has been run by several generations of Groffiers since the 19th century, with Frédéric, the founder, Jules, and Robert. Robert was joined by his son Nicolas in 2005.
The new generation is breathing new life into this renowned estate. Nicolas Groffier, born in 1984, and his younger sister Julie are now at the helm. Located in Morey-Saint-Denis, the estate owns most of its vines in Chambolle-Musigny, including a magnificent plot in Les Amoureuses, of which the estate is the largest owner. From villages to grands crus, the wines are fine, with that silky texture which perfectly symbolises the style of the estate, whose research is focused on concentration through the grapes and not in the cellar, with a variable proportion of whole harvest.
