Often cited as a benchmark since 1897, Loupiac has nothing to be ashamed of, far from it, compared to its illustrious Sauternes neighbors. It was while tasting the 1929 vintage that Alain Thiénot fell under the spell of the wine and decided to acquire the property in 1980. Château de Ricaud Loupiac favors the very aromatic side (more floral than sweet), liveliness on the palate and freshness. It asserts itself as the benchmark for Loupiac and it is undoubtedly no coincidence that some journalists have nicknamed it “the Yquem of the Right Bank”.
