It was in 1902, when he came of age, that Armand Rousseau founded this estate, inheriting several plots of vines located in the town of Gevrey-Chambertin in Burgundy. Over the years, he bought plots classified as Grand Cru in Clos de la Roche, Mazis Charmes and Chambertin. In 1954, he bought the 1er cru Clos-Saint-Jacques in the name of his son Charles. It is now Eric, the son of Charles, and grandson of Armand who is at the head of the estate. Not producing any white wine, the estate has established itself with its legendary vintages such as Lavaux Saint Jacques or Chambertin as one of the icons of Burgundy. We undoubtedly find here the most beautiful expressions of Pinot Noir.
