The cuvée & is made exclusively from Pinot Meunier. It was carefully cultivated according to principles that respect the vine, the soil, and biodiversity. Each vine is treated individually, according to its needs. Upon arrival at the cellar, the berries undergo minimally interventionist vinification, and sulfur is only added homeopathically. The idea? To allow the fruit and the terroir to express their identity. Thus, the tasting reveals a lovely beverage marked by a golden yellow color. It releases complex and varied aromas such as dried fruits (hazelnut, almond), white fruits, and hints of bakery. On the palate, the bubbles are fine, and a beautiful energy is provided by citrus flavors.

Details

La Closerie is an initiative of Jérôme Prévost, one of the most loyal disciples of the renowned Champagne artisan, Anselme Selosse. It was towards the end of the 1990s that Jérôme trained with the master, for whom he produced his very first vintage in 1999. He subsequently went independent, setting up shop in the village of Gueux (located in the Montagne de Reims region) and beginning to cultivate two hectares of single-varietal Pinot Meunier on the Les Béguines plot, which he inherited from his grandmother. However, he continues to work with Anselme on certain vintages.

Jérôme Prévost perfectly embodies the notion of confidentiality, as his bottles can be difficult to source. Due to the small size of its vineyard, the small Champagne house can only produce a few thousand liters per year (between 5,000 and 6,000). La Closerie offers wines that are the purest expression of their terroir, with very low dosage and rich in fruit.
