The Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru is a white wine produced on the demarcated plot of land in the commune of Puligny-Montrachet. The origin of the name dates back to the Middle Ages, when the seiner of Puligny transmitted this plot to his eldest son the "Chevalier". The vineyard, with an area of just over seven hectares, is located above Mont Rachet, on a sloping and very limestone terroir subject to erosion. The wines are very fine, with perfect balance. Barely lighter than Montrachet, they evolve more towards mineral. Chevalier-Montrachet is richer and fatter than Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet.

Details

Created in 2005, the Pierre-Yves Colin Morey estate extends over 13 hectares in the Saint Aubin and Chassagne-Montrachet appellations. After having cut his teeth at his father's (Marc Colin) estate until 2005, Pierre-Yves decided to launch his own estate with his wife Caroline Morey. Previously, he had already launched his trading activity (in 2001). Designated by the specialist press as one of the "most gifted winemakers of his generation" (RVF), the estate's wines, mainly from Chassagne, Meursault and Saint Aubin, are absolutely worth discovering.
With his wife Caroline, Pierre-Yves Colin operates this small estate, while supplementing production with purchases of grapes (up to a third of the volumes). In the vineyards, the work is carried out in a reasoned manner, with worked or grassed soils depending on the plots, and in the winery, the vinifications are minimally interventionist (pressing in whole bunches, vinifications without stirring, without fining or filtration). One of the strong points of this area is the breeding, which is mainly done in demi-muids and is very subtle. This signature, widely recognized by amateurs and professionals, is undeniably a sure value!
