97/100 Jeff Leve (Tasted 2019): "This gorgeous wine offers a blast of earthy kirsch, spice, thyme and herbs on the nose. Deep in color, the wine looks and tastes young. Full-bodied and loaded with layers of plush, ripe, fresh, polished, silky red fruits, this wine fills your palate with layers of cherries, plums, spice and licorice. 2-3 more years of cellaring for this concentrated stunner will add more complexity and softness to the wine."

Details

Julien and Laetitia Barrot own a beautiful vineyard with a significant proportion of old vines planted mainly in the northern part of the appellation, on the terroirs of Bois des Dauphins, Pied Long and Cabrières. The Pure cuvée is made from Grenache, some of which are over a hundred years old, planted in the Grand Pierre, Le Pointu and Rayas sectors. The quest for freshness is affirmed: cement vats, aging in a majority of large wooden containers.
