97/100 Falstaff :"Crushed, autumnal oak leaf, tart cherry and toasty oak have overtones of petrichor and wet stone. That aromatic allure carries right over to the chiseled palate, all poise, all elegance and a super-fine frame for these aromas. There is depth and endurance in this profound fruit expression that reverberates with freshness. Utter concentration, utter poise. Drink 2027-2050"

Details

The Clos Frantin estate, owned by Albert Bichot, produces the following wines: in grands crus, Richebourg, Chambertin, Clos-de-Vougeot, Grands-Echézeaux, Echézeaux, in premier cru, Vosne-Romanée ""Les Malconsorts"" and in villages, Gevrey-Chambertin ""Les Murots"", Vosne-Romanée Les Maizières, Vosne-Romanée Les Damaudes and Nuits-Saint-Georges. The Clos Frantin estate covers 13 hectares, including 8 hectares of premiers and grands crus. Fertilizers and weedkillers have been replaced by compost and plowing. Respect for the soil, strict pruning and green harvesting where necessary allow for high-quality fruit. The estate's wines are vinified in a historic building at the entrance to Nuits-Saint-Georges. In the winery, gravity-fed fermentation has replaced mechanical operations to preserve the quality and aromatic potential of the grapes.
