Château La Violette is a small Pomerol wine estate spanning just over 3 hectares of Merlot vines over 40 years old, planted on clay-limestone soils and a subsoil of iron slag, whose wines express themselves with rare elegance and depth. The vineyard is located on the heights of the Pomerol plateau, between Château Trotanoy and Château Le Pin, an exceptional terroir.
Catherine Péré-Vergé settled in Pomerol in 1985 when she acquired Château Montviel in the northwest of the appellation and undertook significant efforts to modernize the estate. She then purchased Château Le Gay in Pomerol, and in 2005, Château La Violette, as well as Château La Gravière and Château Moulin La Gravière in Lalande-de-Pomerol. She was also one of the pioneers of French viticulture in Argentina, in the now world-famous Mendoza region. She died in 2013 and left the estates in the hands of her son, Henri Parent.
