A desert of garrigue, stone walls, the Tramontane wind—the Clos des Fées estate unfolds with a sense of poetry. The Clos des Fées adventure began in 1997.
Elected Best Young Sommelier of France at 21, restaurateur and writer Hervé Bizeul fell in love with these enchanting and mysterious landscapes nestled in the majestic Vingrau cirque at the foot of the Pyrenees Mountains, near the Mediterranean Sea, in the Roussillon region.
Feeling the call of the land and driven by a passion for winemaking, Hervé Bizeul decided to found the Clos des Fées estate with his wife, Claudine. After their first vintage in 1998, the Clos des Fées estate experienced meteoric success.
Today, the Clos des Fées estate is one of the most prestigious in Languedoc-Roussillon, boasting iconic wines such as La Petite Sibérie, named after the vineyard site battered by glacial winds.
Spanning 30 hectares of vines divided into 112 parcels, the Clos des Fées estate safeguards an exceptional terroir. Like a true mosaic, the soils represent a unique and singular geological formation.
Cultivated using sustainable farming practices, the ancient vines of the Clos des Fées estate constitute an extraordinary viticultural heritage. Syrah, Grenache, Carignan, Mourvèdre—the perfect harmony between terroir and grape variety gives rise to exceptional wines that express the unique character of their birthplace.
Boasting exceptional aromatic richness, great power and structure, the wines of Domaine du Clos des Fées captivate with their intensity of expression, harmony, and depth, often demonstrating excellent aging potential. Simply an essential estate in Roussillon.
