The origins of Château Croizet-Bages date back to the early 17th century, at the initiative of the Croizet brothers. At the time, these Bordeaux parliamentarians aimed to replant plots purchased from neighboring farmers and gradually build a wine estate in Pauillac, within the hamlet of Bages.
Acquired shortly after the First World War by Jean-Baptiste Monnot, an American citizen and owner of the famous Klaxon brand, Château Croizet-Bages became the property of Paul Quié in 1942, also owner of Châteaux Rauzan-Gassies and Bel Orme Tronquoy de Lalande. At the helm of this 5th Growth Classé since 1968, his son Jean-Michel Quié and his children passionately and expertly craft wines renowned for their generosity and freshness.
The 27 hectares of vineyards of this flagship winery on the Left Bank of Bordeaux are located on the Bages plateau. The vines, aged 35 years on average, are planted on soils composed of deep gravel and gravelly sand.
