Owned by Henri Martin, the Château Gloria vineyard is the result of a unique creation. Using plots exclusively from Grands Crus Classés (classified growths) dating back to 1855, Henri Martin has assembled 50 hectares of vines, making Château Gloria one of the emblematic names of the Médoc's unclassified growths.
Located on the Left Bank of Bordeaux, in the Saint-Julien appellation, the Château Gloria vineyard is spread over three different zones, with vines located in the center of Beychevelle and on neighboring plots of the Pauillac appellation to the west and north.
Château Gloria's superb terroir, consisting of gravel dating from the Günz era and layers of clay-sand soil, provides all the necessary conditions for producing great red wines typical of the Saint-Julien appellation. Dominated by the essential red grape variety of the Left Bank – Cabernet Sauvignon (65%), the Château Gloria vineyard's grape varieties are complemented by Merlot (25%), Cabernet Franc (5%), and Petit Verdot (5%).
From the vineyard to the winery, the greatest attention is paid to every stage of winemaking. Harvests are carried out by hand. The finest grapes are then vinified in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats before continuing their aging in oak barrels for an average of 14 months, with 40% new oak renewed annually.
