Clos Erasmus is a truly great wine from Priorat, perhaps one of the greatest Spanish wines. Aged for 22 months in French oak barrels, it expresses a light, perfectly integrated oakiness, complementing aromas of undergrowth, truffle, black fruits (black cherry, plum), and spicy notes (white pepper). The palate is dense, with a deep and complex structure; the overall effect is very harmonious and exemplary of refinement.

Details

Clos Erasmus is one of the most renowned estates in Priorat. Daphné Glorian, a Swiss woman who fell in love with the Priorat region, founded Clos Erasmus in 1989 on the advice of her friends René Barbier and Álvaro Palacios. From the beginning, the tiny 2.5-hectare vineyard was farmed organically, and since 2004, it has been managed biodynamically. This estate quickly gained international renown, but due to its rarity (around 3,200 bottles produced each year), its wines are difficult to obtain. They are characterized by great richness and concentration.
