94/100 Jeffe Leve - The Wine Cellar Insider : "Time has been kind to this wine, as it has really come on strong with bottle age. Crisp, classic and fresh, with a kirsch, spice and herbed, tannic profile. Classic, with loads of bright, clean red fruits, age it a few more years for additional nuance, or pop a cork if you prefer more of a classic, bite."

Details

With its unique terroir of rolled pebbles, Château de Beaucastel is one of the emblems of Châteauneuf-du-Pape. This estate can pride itself on being one of the few to use all thirteen authorized grape varieties to produce its red wine. Under the efficient management of the Perrin family, owners since 1909, it remains a benchmark for wines from the South of France. Each of the seven children of Jean-Pierre and François work at the estate today. The extremely rare and remarkable Hommage à Jacques Perrin cuvée, made largely from Mourvèdre and produced only in prime years, remains a benchmark, as does the sumptuous Vieilles Vignes Roussanne white, which reveals itself with age.
