Peyraguey, whose name means hill, is an old barony acquired in the 18th century. In 1879, the estate was split in two. Part of it is named Lafaurie-Peyraguey in homage to Mr. Lafaurie (former owner) who gave it its fame. The highest land at the top of Bommes hill will be named Clos Haut-Peyraguey. The meticulous care given to the vines (16 hectares in Sauternes) allows, even in difficult vintages - where the quality must be extremely precise - to produce a Clos Haut-Peyraguey which deserves its name followed by the mention "cru classified in 1855". The property has belonged to Bernard Magrez since 2012.
